Multi-day events concerning the greening of buildings (greening of roofs, façades and indoor areas) with the associated accompanying topics (urban climate, demographic development, rainwater management, sustainability). At the end of the congress, it will be possible to participate in excursions to special green roofs and living walls in Berlin. The congress is named after the WGIN World Green Infrastructure Network e.V., which has been organising this event since 2007, each year in a different member country. In 2017, it will be organised by the Fachvereinigung Bauwerksbegrünung e.V. (Green Building Association) (FBB) with the support of other German-speaking associations of the sector. WGIN is the world association; under its consolidation, the national associations for green roofing meet, communicate and exchange experiences at regular intervals. For Germany, FBB is a member of WGIN and was also a founding member in 2007. Organisers • FBB (Fachvereinigung Bauwerksbegrünung e.V. – Green Building Association) • WGIN (World Green Infrastructure Network e.V.) • EFB (Europäische Föderation der Bauwerksbegrü-nungsverbände e.V. - European Federation of Green Roofing Associations) Patron The governing mayor of Berlin Kindly supported by Senate Department for Urban Development and the Environment, Land of Berlin Objective and target group The Congress aims to inform persons from politics, architecture and sectoral planning about the various possibilities and opportunities of green buildings and involve these persons in the worldwide discussion about the promising applications of the green building. Approximately 400 – 500 participants are expected to take part.
