Verdant Green Roofs

New inner city urban residential development of three modern green terraces. The terraces are serenely joined by a continuous sloped green roof. The three homes provide the existing green streetscape with enhanced sustainability, biodiversity and enjoyment for pasers by.. Each terrace has a street frontage 37 degree sloped green roof and two rear levels of green roofs which may be viewed from inside the building.
Indigenous planting on the street and rear facades have created new habitat for blue wrens, increased building insulation and reduced GHG emmisions. The rear top level has solar PV panels delivering a renewable energy for the owners. The project complies with the City of Sydney  Green Roof Strategy for new developments.
The project received community objections initially which were unfounded and lacking any susbstance.
In most cases, community consultation is required to explain the benefits that a green roof will deliver to a neighbourhood and the environment.
All three homes were auctioned after completion. The real estate agents were astounded at the competiveness for the homes and determined that the green roofs were significant in delivering easy promotion and an additional $200,000.00 / property.
