Green Wall on Eco-friendly Bukit Gombak Community Club, Singapore
Work has started on the eco-friendly Bukit Gombak Community Club (CC), which will feature open and interactive communal spaces, a vertical green wall and plenty of plants both inside and outside.
To conserve water, there will also be an inbuilt rain harvesting system for irrigation of local plants planted in the CC. The fourth floor will have a community garden where residents can plant and tend to crops.
Over 250 residents joined MPs Ms Low Yen Ling, Dr Amy Khor, Mr Alex Yam and Health Minister Gan Kim Yong in Saturday's groundbreaking ceremony.
The four-storey CC, which will replace the existing void deck Bukit Gombak CC at Block 386 Bukit Batok West Avenue 5, is expected to be completed in the last quarter of next year. It will offer residents more lifestyle options with programmes such as photography, culinary classes, pilates and ballet dance, plus more than 50 Home & Gardening courses.
Ms Low said: "We are looking forward to the many ways the new CC can develop our residents' interests and become a centre where their passion and skills can flourish. It will become like a second home to many of us - a place where friendships and families, new bonds and fond memories, and meaningful experiences are formed."
